Favorites From Resort

Here are some of my favorite looks from Resort 2011.

Dior

John Galliano is a genious. The sixties inspired looks at Dior seem so fresh, and exactly what I would want to wear on a warm day. I need to tease my hair and slip into some sorbet shades immediately. Oh, wait, it's -10 out.

Lanvin

Alber Elbaz, the king of draping, did not disappoint with his Lanvin collection for resort. So European jetset, which is what resort is all about after all. And the most wicked wedges I have seen in quite some time. Fabulous!

Yves Saint Laurent

Stefano Pilati at YSL looked back to the seventies heyday of YSL for his resort collection. Rather than the glam seventies look we know from YSL, with the le smoking tuxedos on glamazons strutting confidently down the runway, this collection had references to the 1940s.

Gucci

Ooh, I love this collection. So easy, with the little cropped pants, the gorgeous Grecian gowns, jackets, and even fur! I'm not usually one for an entirely neutral pallette, but this is working for me.

Alexander McQueen

This collection proves that Sarah Burton was the right choice to replace the incomparable Alexander McQueen as the creative director of the brand. I love all the amazing pleating and tucking, and how the structured designs are made to compliment a woman's body. There is nothing here I wouldn't wear. Especially the shoes, oh the shoes! FAB.
